What's Up?

I haven't been keeping up with my reading. Only just starting Chapter 6 of Abhorsen, when I should really be done with the trilogy by now. I'll reserve my comments for the review, which I don't know how good a job I'll do, but anyway, I can say I'm beginning to feel attached to one character, so that's a good sign. And I'm looking out for the surprises that Nymeth mentioned.

Why haven't I been reading my books? I've been socialising, meeting up with friends and basically spending too much time on the net, obsessing about Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab perfume oils and placing an unbelievably large order for my scents of choice. Right now I can't pull myself away from the downward spiral into compulsively searching for scent lockets. I simply must find a nice, slightly edgy and ornate scent locket to fit my mood. Preferably with Celtic or American Indian symbols but not too expensive, since I've spent too much on the scents. It's a bad thing. I stop buying books to save money and prevent clutter in my too-small living space and end up spending elsewhere instead.

Don't hate me if you turn out not to be surprised. I don't want to give anything away, but what I mean is a revelation about a character in particular that I absolutely did not see coming, although in retrospect perhaps I should have.

I read Sabriel and really liked it. Guess I better add the next two in the trilogy to my list. There are so many things I want to read UGH! And I am going to click on the perfume site, but I know already that I'm going to be sorry. My will power is too low. Dum-da-d-dum!

Isn't Black Alchemy great? Such a creative idea. I give them kudos for their creative spirit!

booklogged, get both books because abhorsen picks up from where lirael ends. and i hope find something nice at BPAL, it's a site full of temptations!

carl, they are terrific! i buy their scents because i get such a kick from the background stories. my friends are evil enablers too, always telling me the scents smell great and unique.

Ah, I am a perfume addict. As well as book fiend. Someday I want to post about all my favorite perfumes, 99% of which are French. It's nice to be surrounded in a pleasant aroma. It's nice to meet another person who's enticed by fragrance like me. (I came ostensibly to see your Once Upon A Time Challenge, and got sidetracked.)

I tend to spend hours at BAL's site. I too like that summaries they give but I ma very strict and make sure I read what scents are in the various concoctions. I've had horrible experiences with custommade scent products so lesson learned.I must admi thought ath Gaiman was hard to resist*g* ***CV
