American Gods by Neil Gaiman

I completed reading this book within 2-3 days. That's because I was rushing to finish it by Saturday so I could return it to the library and also I was home all day yesterday. It's a very good read - like many others who read this book, I had fun trying to figure out who the gods were before they were named in the stories. I'm having a hard time with one though - the one who's name Shadow always never seems to grasp. I didn't read this book very carefully. It was more like a fun quick read for me. I think if I have the mood, I'll try picking it up for a re-read some time in the future. Other than that, my next goal is to complete reading all the books I purchased in the past.

Isn't American Gods an amazing novel? I just love Shadow. I recommend reading The Monarch of the Glen now, it is a novella in the Neil Gaiman short story collection Fragile Things which concerns events with Shadow awhile after the end of AG.

By the way, here is a wikipedia link to all the gods featured in AG. Thought it might help:

For what its worth, I can give you a tip if you're still interested at all.

Shadow is hinted at to be Wodan's son. Check out who Wodan's most famous son was in old folklore. You may figure out which god Shadow was supposed to be.

Hi Cytizen, thanks for your comment. I did figure out Shadow. But I still haven't identified the ephemeral character that everyone couldn't recall ... the un-named one who appeared when Shadow driving the limo, I think in Vegas?
